Being one of few islands where you can still discover very crystal clear water with white sandy tropical beaches, Koh Chang offers a wide spectrum of beach styles and environments to match every visitor's preference, from lively party ambiences to a more serene feel for those looking to relax. Watching the beautiful sunset after the day at this largely deserted island, particularly in the south. More interestingly, a cool side that is always overlooked when enjoying the beaches at Koh Chang Marine National Park in the Gulf of Thailand is that it will not leave you the feeling salty at all!
Klong Son Beach
Klong Son Beach is the first beach that waits to welcome you after disembarking at the ferry pier. It's situated on the northern end of the island, where is beautifully scenic with a cape and a long stretch of palm-fringed white sand and is truly rich with coral lines of the west coast. This beach is perfectly suitable for anyone who wishes for fantastic holidays and for retired foreigners who seek for peaceful location.

White Sand Beach (Had Sai Khao)
White Sand beach, or Had Sai Khao as it is called by the locals, is the most popular site to stay. Regular football and volleyball games are played as the sun sets right off its shore.
Early mornings and late afternoons are great time to catch up on some exercise, with a gentle stroll at sunset being a favorite activity, for the more energetic visitors.
Some jogging along the beach is a good idea! In the nights a number of resorts and local restaurants plot the tables at the water's edge stoke up the BBQ to cook their wonderful fresh seafood.
It is a memorable way to spend an evening, sitting under starry skies whilst feasting on the catch of the day. You can enjoy your dinner by candle light with the feel of the sand between your toes.
Klong Prao Beach ( Had Klong Prao )
Despite its remarkably beautiful and seemingly endless curved sweeping beach, Klong Phrao Beach remains a mystery to the most before in the past few years. Klong Phrao Beach is truly a slice of paradise with coconut trees hanging gracefully over gentle shallow waters lapping at the shore.
On the main road, which cuts through the Klong Phrao Beach area is a wide selection of restaurants and shops offering everything you could wish for. The two shopping plazas at the Chai Chet end feature most activities away from the beach.
The beach itself is less crowded and suitable for swimming and water sports. It is common to see people rent a bicycle or take a local bus to Klong Plu Waterfall which is only 3 kilometers from the beach. Although it is much less commercial than White Sand Beach, there are still plenty of activities on offer including snorkeling or diving, fishing and kayaking.
For snorkeling, the underwater visibility on a clear quiet day is around 10 meters. In the evening, local villagers can be seen collecting tiny shrimps or so-called " Khei " to make the shrimp paste, for which Koh Chang is famous.

Lonely Beach
Tha Nam Beach is well known and nicknamed as Lonely Beach for many visitors and more experienced travelers. This beach is precisely what you are longing for when you imagine a fine beach and not as developed as some others. Only 1 kilometer by the forested hill, Lonely Beach is the last beach on the west coast separated from Kai Bae. Lonely Beach is called "Back-Packer's Haven" since it started out as the top destination for backpackers who like some tranquil and relaxing beach time.

Moreover, the northern end is one of the best spheres to swim along the sea to the west coast.
Kai Bae Beach
Kai Bae Beach, the last major beach on the west coast, is one of incredibly stunning bays that give the impression of having your own private section of white sandy beach. This beach is a great viewing point for the spectacular sunset. Some small islands are prevailing and so close that you can reach by sea kayak. Beyond that, there is an untainted beach with numerous palm trees providing plenty of shade. Several nearby islands are so close that you are tempted to wade through the water to reach them.
The islands dotted around in front of the beach enhance that sunset and during low tide it is possible for you to walk to Koh Man Nai from the South end of the beach. A little further out, Koh Yuak has a small beach front and clear shallow water which is a good snorkeling spot. Here there is also a slight downward slope into the sea which is favorable for swimming but you have to be careful of the depth if you are not strong in swimming. Swimming to a far distance is not recommended.
At Kai Bae Village, you can find a few local grocery shops, supermarkets, restaurants and Internet caf?. All dive shops provide rental services for boats, canoes, sea kayaks and diving gears to explore new adventure islands. Dive trips are also available here.

Bang Bao Beach
Bang Bao Beach is a well-preserved bay with a small and calm beach at the southwest end of Koh Chang. This beach is surrounded by a fishing community where local residents still live in houses built on stilts and connected by wooden bridges stretching out into the sea. The beach on Bang Bao Bay features transparent water with rocks. It is somewhat shallow and plenty of gold-color corals off the shores. At the bottom line, Bang Bao Beach is a good location for swimming, snorkeling and, of course, fishing. It is usual around this beach area to see a good and growing number of tourist shops, scuba diving outlets, and seafood restaurants that offer a good range of fresh seafood in the menu. Plus, new and nice bungalows have sprouted amidst the grove of coconut trees and around Bang Bao Bay. There are small shops selling souvenirs and refreshments to make this appealing place alive.
